Gillian Lieberman and Joseph McNamara soared to the top of the competition at this year’s Dance The Night Away gala held at the Mar-a-Lago Club, walked away the proud winners of the terpsichorean category. Celebrated national champion Louis van Amstel served as the night’s esteemed emcee, introducing a lineup of celebrity judges including Olympic gymnast and actress Cathy Rigby, businessman and “The Bachelor” alum Prince Lorenzo Borghese, and Artem Chigvintsev, Season 29 winner of “Dancing with the Stars” and Emmy nominee for choreography. Local amateur dancers joined professionals in an exciting competition both to entertain and raise funds for Cancer Alliance For Help and Hope.
Gillian Lieberman and Joseph McNamara were a formidable duo, as they proudly took home the top terpsichorean honors at the annual Dance The Night Away gala held on April 15th at the Mar-a-Lago Club. Janet Levy and Farley Rentschler chaired the event, where 12 local amateur dancers partnered with professionals in a lively “Dancing With the Stars”-style competition to benefit Cancer Alliance For Help and Hope.
Celebrity Judges
Louis van Amstel, a celebrated national champion and professional dancer from the renowned show “Dancing with the Stars”, served as the night’s esteemed emcee. Celebrity judges included Olympic gymnast and actress Cathy Rigby, businessman and “The Bachelor” alum Prince Lorenzo Borghese, and Artem Chigvintsev, Season 29 winner of “Dancing with the Stars” and Emmy nominee for choreography. The competition was fierce, with contestants Diane Avonda, Victoria Herbert, Kerrie Lance, Gillian Lieberman, Joseph McNamara, Kristina Olsen Madden, Gina Sabean, Katherine Sheneman, Terry Duffy, Kyle Lucks, Rick Rose and Bruce Sutka all vying for the top prize.
At the end of the night, Lance emerged victorious, receiving the People’s Choice Award for garnering the most votes and raising the most money. It was a proud moment for everyone involved, especially given the high caliber of both the competitors and the esteemed panel of judges.
Expressing Gratitude to Supporters of 2023 Dance the Night Away Event
Stanton Collemer, CEO of CAHH, expressed his gratitude to those who supported the 2023 Dance the Night Away event. With their help, CAHH is on track to reach its goal of providing emergency financial aid to cancer patients struggling to cover expenses like rent, utilities, food, transportation, pet care and insurance. This assistance will go a long way in preventing homelessness for many people during their cancer treatments.
